What happens when you put 93 octane gas in a Yamaha Blaster ATV?

I put 93 octane gas in my 2004 Yamaha Blaster and now it's smoking off the motor. I didn't ride it long so what kind of damage could it cause?|||It won't cause any damage at all. One thing you need to check is that the oil injector is working properly and the tank under the seat is full of injector oil. It must be oil designed for oil injected systems not just premix oil. There is a difference in the viscosity of the oil. Premix oil or oil designed to be hand mixed into the gasoline will not work properly with the injector pump and could cause the engine to run extremely hot and possibly cause severe damage to the piston, rings and cylinder. If you have any doubt about the injector pull the hose off the bottom of the injector tank and block it off with a screw or something. Drain the gas from the tank and buy some good premix oil. Mix the gas and oil at about a 40:1 gas to premix oil ratio and go for a ride if the problem goes away continue premixing or take the bike to a shop and have the injection system repaired. I have owned blasters and premixed for a couple of years because of a failed injector pump with no issues. They actually run better.|||higher octane sometimes burns faster and hotter (aircraft fuel has higher octane), which means that any crap on the engine is probably hotter, that's what's smoking, not the fuel. you also may get better mileage from high octane, but i doubt that's a concern on an atv.|||mix it with good oil and it will do alot for you and your money. keep the engine clean and will a lil improvement in fuel econ.|||it has no effect...its just gas... really
