Have any ATV mechanics out there to answer why my 1987 yamaha warrior burns oil?

Valve stem worn, valve guide worn, valve stem seal, stuck oil ring on the piston.

If it smokes when you are slowing down it is you valves leaking oil past the guides.

Smokes all of the time it is your rings.

If you can do the over haul or got some one that can do it on the side That motor has replaceable valve guides you can get for $20 each.

If the cylinder wall is worn to bad That will run you $220.

Piston ring set $30

It all come down to is it worth it to you to spend money on it or get some thing different.

The following web site is where I got the prices from. I don't know the availability of the parts.

Good luck.Have any ATV mechanics out there to answer why my 1987 yamaha warrior burns oil?
