I have a 2001 Yamaha Warrior 350 atv with starting problems?

It has electric start. Pulled plug and I only get some spark right after I stop pressing start button on handlebar. When pressed no spark. Only when released. Just rebuilt starter and all was working fine. New battery too. Only other thing I did was change oil and wash atv. Any advice as far as trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated|||check your starter solenoid and look at all the wiring to make sure nothing is grounding out or got wet while washing.|||I have a feeling that you've got something timed improperly in the starter mechanism, or the starter button has a weird ground or lack of ground that's causing the problem.

It would not be the CDI, unless this is an ongoing problem. Usually a CDI will show issues first when the engine is hot, but run fine when it is cold.

A coil would not be affected by the starter button position.|||its probably your CDI. im no expert but thats what i would think.
