and backfires out of the carb. i ran some berryman b12 through the carb and it has no effect.|||Backfiring out of the carb is a sign of a leaking intake valve.
When the spark plug fires, the compression of the engine blows the burnt fuel out of the intake valve and through the carburetor.
Tight valve clearances will hold the valves open a fraction.
Adjust the valves|||Spraying Berrymans [good product by the way] or anything else into the carb is pretty much a toxic waste of time. You may have an intake leak, in which case spraying that cleaner around the outside of the intake will identify it. Could be time to remove and disassemble the carb for cleaning. Do some on line searching for a rebuild kit if you can do this yourself.|||try cleaning them.
